Video documenting the actions at Tuesday's fire.

At approximately 3:33 pm on Tuesday June 11th, 2019 Valley City Fire Department was dispatched to Hy-Production at 6000 Grafton Rd. in Liverpool Twp for a machine on fire. On arrival crews found heavy fire and commenced a defensive attack. The fire building is a total loss. Mutual aid was requested from Brunswick Hills Twp, Brunswick City, York Twp, Columbia Twp, Medina City, and LST. Crews saved the two exposure buildings that were in close proximity. Thank God everyone is ok. Praying that the business gets through it and back up and running soon.

I’m thankful it was contained to only 1 building. My boyfriend and nephew work there. Pray they can get back up and running soon for work and thankful no one was hurt.

I was watching all the smoke from work. Start to finish!! valley city got it under control real quick!

I use to work there. I was always working around hydraulic oil. Glad to see now one was injured.

Firefighters from Valley City Fire Department participated in this exercise as members of the Hazardous Materials Team and the Rope/Confined Space Rescue Team. It was a great training for everyone involved.What a great day for an exercise!! Medina County Emergency Management also oversees and implements the requirements of the Local Emergency Planning Committee. The LEPC falls under the State Emergency Response Commission. Part of the LEPC responsibilities includes receiving chemical inventory reporting of local businesses and coordinates and implements the required SERC annual exercise. The exercise tests plans and procedures with our first responders and local community stakeholders. The EMA and LEPC are not response agencies but rather resource and coordination entities providing logistical support to assist in swift mitigation of an emergency. Thank you to Seville-Guilford Fire & EMS for leading this year's drill and huge thank you to Bleachtech for opening your facility and sharing your personnel. Additional thank you's go out to Westfield Fire & Rescue, Lafayette Fire & Rescue, Seville PD, Seville Mayor Carol Carter, the Seville-Guilford Township Trustees, our Medina County Hazardous Materials Team, Rope Rescue Team, Communications Unit members and Lorain, Cuyahoga and Wayne County Emergency Management Offices for being our Evaluators and Ohio Emergency Management for overseeing our overall evaluation process.
